This innovative design for a new house has been featured in Building Design magazine U.K., and in Domain Magazine, Sydney.

The structure consists of a glass covered vault made from reclaimed washing machine drums from the client's recycling yards, which creates a sheltered microclimate beneath, enabling the rammed earth walling and wooden galleries to be protected from the weather.  Sub-tropical and indigenous plants are able to flourish along the galleries under the vaulted canopy.

 

The design of the vaulted roof has now be granted patent No. GB2565114.
