STUNNING NEW HOUSES
The original Arts and Crafts style house was partly rebuilt and refurbished, with a pioneering frameless glass extension.
This design for a new house in the countryside uses basic sculptural forms to link with the earth, and an innovative transparent 'cloud roof' which generates electricity. The clear P.V. roof produces sufficient energy to make the house better than net zero and the surplus can be shared with the community.

THE SUN HOUSE
We conceived the designs and secured planning approval for these 2 modernist dwellings. The craftsman builder client is an admirer of Eichler, who was in turn, an admirer of Frank Lloyd Wright.
NEW ECO HOUSE LONGFIELD KENT
This new house is powered by solar panels mounted on the outbuilding seen in the foreground and on the rear southern slope of the main building. The north facing glazed wall allows distant views to the Thames estuary at ground level and from the upper bedroom balcony. The reflected light provides glare-free soft illumination throughout. The living areas are provided with a multi-fuel stove for the colder months, but the owners have said it is not required to supplement the solar powered heating system as the house is so well insulated.
The glittering vault is made from recycled washing machine drums re-using metal which will have consumed much energy to produce for their original use.
A microclimate is produced around the living spaces beneath
Although we prepare digital presentations of our projects when the designs become final, we favour hand drawn watercolours when in discussion with the client at the earlier stages of the design process.
